"Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change."- Wayne W. DyerThis month we posted on our social media 25 things you can and Can't control. The interaction we have received highlighted to us that we are all searching for control and value in our lives. This should be obvious, however how many of us actually feel like we have control and value in enough our of lives?
By being more aware of what we can and can't control, allows our minds have more information to create successful change. If we cannot control it and don't want to spend time and energy on it then why get worked up about it.If we are not happy about something we want control of but can't control it yet, we now have an opportunity to change how we look at it. As we say if we keep doing what we are doing we will always get the same results.
Do you need to change the way you look at it or can you influence the people involved? A big highlight from people we spoke with was how much they want to control others, especially responses and emotions. What was interesting to hear is how many other them do not wish to be controlled themselves. This is a common cycle especially with hierarchy management and takes brave leadership to change this cycle.
By having a personal mentor you can have the ear of a non emotionally attached individual who can make you aware of these types of cycles. Better yet they can even work with you on how to change the cycle to something you feel would be more impactful for everyone. The irony in all of this is I want you to spend just 10 minutes today reflecting on your week in your journal because I know by doing this you will improve areas of your life that you many not even know you want to change. I cannot control if you will do this and you can say you cannot control when you get 10 minutes in your busy Sunday. The question then is what are you willing to do, to get what you always wanted? If you do spend 10 minutes today reflection on your week, we want to hear from you. Share a picture of you journalling with #Strive25 and tag any of our handles across Insta and Twitter.
